MFT has generously offered a $50 gift voucher to the winner of their Color Challenge! I'm a couple days late announcing this to you but one of the nice things about this challenge is that it runs until January 22, 2019. This should give you plenty of time to submit your entry!

The colors for this challenge are below. If you'd like, go to the website and check out the samples their design team came up with. At first, I thought of water but then I saw a card done using fish and that caused me to change my mind! That's the challenging part!

MFT Color Challenge 1/9-22/2019

My thoughts went from water to sky! I pulled out My Favorite Things Designer's Birdie Brown Magical Dragons stamp set. This would be perfect!

Making a second dragon, use the Mirror Stamping Technique to create it facing the other dragon. Watch this great video by Jennifer McGuire showing how to create a mirrored stamp image.

On a panel of Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Smooth Cardstock, using a Ranger Embossing Pen, draw three clouds for an Emboss Resist affect.

Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers were used for the sky to represent two of the colors in the Challenge.

Blending Distress Oxides for background

TIP: Wipe off clouds lightly with a dry paper towel while the ink is still wet.

Alternate coloring the dragons with the sky and grass of your background. Oxides take a little time to dry.

Color your stamped images in any combination you wish. I attempted to color one the lime green of the challenge and the other in the green/blue color. The wings, nails, and spikes had shades of brown in them.

The Bristol paper works so well with the alcohol markers. It blends smoothly and does not bleed or pill.

Fussy cut dragons and hair bow.

TIP: Use a very sharp, small scissors to cut. (I keep one for fussy cutting ONLY)

Add the dragons to the background. After adding the bow to one, raise her up to sit in front of the other. I use Fun Foam to raise my elements. The foam is not as thick as foam tape and can be cut to fit any shape.

Emboss the sentiment in white on a strip of Kraft card stock. Layer the background onto Kraft cardstock and layer that onto a

4 1/4"x 5 1/2" quality lime top-folding card base. Add the sentiment strip and to dress it up, add Sakura Gelly Roll Black Glaze Pen pen to the eyes and Ranger Glossy Accents to the tummies!

I finished the inside with a white panel for your greeting, another sentiment and a little fire to accompany the sentiment on the front. This card would make a great Valentine card for my Valentine series!!
