CARD CHALLENGES FOR 2019

Card Challenges for 2019

Have you ever tried a card challenge? Sometimes I find myself in kind of a slump and a challenge or two helps me to revive my interest in my artwork.

A Card Challenge is a chosen theme or style of card. A picture of the card gets downloaded onto the website hosting the challenge. Challenges usually last a week and then the winner is announced at the next Challenge. Prizes are usually sponsored items like digits or gift certificates. The prize is always announced at the beginning of the Challenge.

The Challenge I am choosing to enter is this week's Sketch Challenge sponsored by My Favorite Things (or MFT). The prize is $50 to spend at their online store! I have several stamp sets and dies from this company. They do not require you to use their product but it is great if you can! Use this link to get all the details.

This is this week's sketch (12/26/18). A sketch is like a pattern or a diagram of what the card front should look like.

Inside my Bitty Baby Birthday Card...

I cut a window using a small rectangle die out of red paper from the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Paper Pack to frame the four birthday bears from the BB Bitty Bears stamp set. They were cut with the matching dies. I added an embossed sentiment strip from the same set to wish the recipient a Happy Birthday! I raised the window with foam tape so I could snug the bears behind it. I attached the panel to the front of an A2 (4 1/4"x 5 1/2") size white card base.

I think this card turned out quite cute! I'll take a photo and download it to the link at the bottom of the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge web page. Maybe I'll get to be next week's winner!

Stop by my Etsy Shop, LoriEllenDesigns, to see other quality handmade cards.

I think you should try making a card using the sketch above. I would love to see your entry into the challenge. Just download a picture into the comments below!

Remember, great things happen to those that create!
